Desktop RAM – When deciding what desktop RAM is appropriate for your system, there are a few different factors to consider. The main consideration will be what the capacity of the RAM is, and whether the generation of ram is compatible with your motherboard/CPU. some additional factors will be the speed of the ram, the overclocking profile (i.e. whether your CPU is designed to be used with Intel or AMD CPUs) as well as cosmetic factors like RGB lighting and colour. For more info, see the desktop RAM page linked below.

Laptop RAM – There is less to consider when selecting what laptop RAM would be suitable for your device, but the key factors will be the capacity of the RAM, the speed of the RAM, and whether the generation of RAM is compatible with your device. Additionally, many laptops will not be upgradable, and if they are upgradable, may have a limit to the capacity of RAM they can have installed. For more info, see the laptop RAM page linked below.
