About the Role

We’re looking for a highly experienced Senior Networking Engineer to join our Service & Support Operations team. This is a senior-level technical role focused on secure network design, escalations, client onboarding, and project delivery.

Based in Brisbane, this is a hybrid role combining work from home with on-site client engagement as required. You’ll play a critical role in ensuring our clients’ network and security environments are robust, resilient, and aligned with best practice frameworks.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide Level 3 support for complex network and security incidents
• Design and implement secure network architectures across on-premises and cloud environments
• Lead network and security components of client onboarding, refreshes, and infrastructure projects
• Act as a trusted consulting engineer for high-priority clients, advising on network security posture and performance
• Take ownership of major incident response, particularly across firewalls, connectivity, and security events
• Strengthen client environments through proactive security improvements and risk mitigation
• Mentor engineers and contribute to network/security standards, documentation, and knowledge sharing
• Participate in client reviews and initiatives to improve service quality and security maturity
• Ensure all solutions align with industry best practices and recognised security frameworks

What You’ll Bring

• 5 – 7+ years’ experience in networking within an MSP environment (essential)
• Strong hands-on experience with Fortinet (FortiGate), FortiManager, ubiquiti unifi and Barracuda
• Deep understanding of network security principles, including VPNs (IPSec/SSL), IDS/IPS, Zero Trust, segmentation, and access control
• Advanced knowledge of routing and switching (BGP, VLANs, ACLs, NAT, STP)
• Experience designing and supporting secure multi-site network environments
• Strong experience with Azure networking and security, including:
  • Azure Virtual Networks (VNets), subnets, and peering
  • Network Security Groups (NSGs) and Azure Firewall
  • VPN Gateways and hybrid connectivity
  • Private Endpoints and secure service access
  • Managing and deploying virtual firewalls
• Familiarity with identity-driven security (Entra ID / Azure AD integration with network controls)
• Experience with enterprise wireless networks (design, optimisation, security)
• Strong troubleshooting skills across All OSI layers
• Experience with network monitoring tools such as PRTG and Auvik
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate technical risk into business impact
• Proven ability to lead projects and mentor peers
